These stainless steel valves are swirl polished and feature undercut chrome stems and Stellite tips. The undercut stem in the head area reduces the valve weight, which provides benefits in opening rate and RPM limits. The radius of the head is such that it significantly improves air/fuel flow. Ideal for street and light racing applications.
Set includes 12 Port-Flow Stainless Steel valves (6 intake and 6 exhaust) Please verify size and application before ordering. In most cases, the largest valves that can be installed in a stock cast iron log head are, the 1.500" exhaust and the 1.750" intake. While we do not recommend using the 1.530" exhaust and 1.800" intake valves in a cast iron head, some of our customers have used them in late model cylinder heads (77-83). However is should be noted that custom chamber work (de-shrouding) will be required, which should only be done by a qualified shop that is capable of flow testing the cylinder head to make sure optimum air flow is achieved. In other words, stick with the 1.500" and 1.750" valves, unless your prepared to spend a considerable amount of money to install slightly larger valves, that may flow less air in the end if they are not installed properly.
When machining for oversized valve seats, don't be surprised if you cut into the water jacket, especially when machining the #1 exhaust seat. However this can usually be repaired by building up the wall thickness (welding) on the backside, by working through the t-stat access hole.
