Complete Kit includes ARP main studs, head studs, rod bolts, and ARP thread lube. Fits 170/200/250ci engines.  When ordering, specify stock or aluminum cylinder head.

ARP® studs and bolts are approximately ten times stronger than OEM fasteners. A performance motor is only as strong as it weakest link, which happens to be the rod bolts in our inline sixes. Installing ARP Rod Bolts, substantially increases the bottom end strength over stock OEM bolts, and is highly recommended on performance motors. Main and Head studs are also recommended over bolts for performance applications, and for good reason. Studs not only make it much easier to assembly an engine, assuring the cylinder head and gasket are properly aligned. Studs also provide more accurate and consistent torque loading, which helps in preventing future head gasket leaks.

CAUTION: When installing cylinder head studs (or bolts) on the small Ford inline six, you need to make sure the front stud on the exhaust side of the motor, does not project deep enough to interfere with the water pump impeller. This must be verified prior to starting the motor. Failure to do so may caause damage to the water pump impeller, and could result in catostrophic engine failure. If the stud is to long, simply remove the stud and grind off the excess. This stud is also a wet stud (in contact with engine coolant), therefore you must use ARP thread sealer (or equivalent) to prevent leakage and/or rusting. Failure to do so may sieze the stud/bolt, thus making it difficult to remove.
