Classic Inlines Project Cars

Classic Inlines currently owns three project cars, which were built for two primary purposes. First, to demonstrate and promote our products at the various shows, events, and races we attend. And secondly, for use as project cars for magazine articles, again to promote our products and the business. The 69 fastback was purchased solely as a project car for an article in Mustang & Fords magazine. The article was published in the fall of 2007, and resulted in a enormous boost in business. Obviously it was a huge success.

Having the support of these magazines is extremely important to our business. I never really understood just how much until this past summer when Mustangs & Fords published a small sidebar in their SEMA coverage. The sidebar showed a small picture of the engine we built for the SEMA convention, and had a small article about our company. As a result, our phones rang constantly for the following four to five weeks, and the membership of the FordSix forum grew in record numbers. Now days, I couldn't imaging staying in business and being successful without their support.

Current Project Cars

66 Coupe - As our newest project, this car will be used as a test mule to develop new products for street and/or strip, seeing the track often. (more info)

67 Coupe - Originally purchased for my son's High School Graduation presentused primarily as a show car for all the events and shows we attend, and for our local cruise nights. . (more info)
69 Fastback - Built as a project car for open track racing, it can also be used for drag racing, or as a daily driver. Featured in Mustang & Fords - 10/07 (more info)

74 Maverick - Owned and raced by Spectre Performance, the little six was on its last leg. But before they pulled the six, in favor of a V8, they decided to have a little fun with it. Their results were published in Hot Rod - 11/07 (more info)

Like everyone, we'd always feel like we need more cars to work with, but we don't have the funds, or more importantly, the space to store them. What we do have, is a lot of ideas. And like most companies, we need project cars to help us develop and test new products. Since were limited to three, we'll just have to make due with what we have. Even if it means rebuilding or tearing down the motors on a regular basis.

These pages will cover the basic details of our project cars, along with a small photo gallery of each. The 67 & 69 are close to completion, if that's ever possible, while 66 is scheduled for a new motor sometime this summer. Our plans are to develop a kit for fuel injection and/or supercharging, but were not sure which car will get what.

As stated above, the 69 fastback was featured in Mustangs & Fords magazine in a three part article (Oct-Nov-Dec 2007). The article covers the engine build, and upgrades to the drivetrain, steering, suspension, and brakes. It was a massive project and coordination was crucial, as it all happened over a long four day weekend. It reminded me of all those programs on TV, where they are always behind schedule and fighting to get a car built before the deadline. We made it, but it wouldn't have been possible without the support of numerous companies, which donated parts, and in some cases the labor as well.
