Classic Inlines is proud to offer the only stainless steel header on the market for the Ford inline six. Made from T304 stainless steel, the new three piece design not only makes installation and removal much easier, the lower extension pipes can be modified for custom applications. For those on a tighter budget, we also offer mild steel headers, in unpainted and powder coated finishes. We also offer Jet Hot Ceramic Coated, for both our mild steel and stainless steel headers (see note below on ceramic coating). Please allow 2-3 weeks additional shipping time for ceramic coated headers.
OUR POWDER COATED HEADERS ARE CURRENTLY ON SALE - $20 OFF (normal price is $75 - sale price is $55)
All of our headers now feature a spring loaded graphite ball joint that allows the exhaust system to flex, thereby reducing stress on the exhaust header and pipes. It also makes removal of the lower pipes much easier for starter maintenance,

Fits: 144/170/200/250ci motors with high or low mount starters. Slight modifications may be needed for Fox body cars, early Broncos, and Econolines.
Other options: stainless steel studs, extra long hot air choke tube or our new Electric Choke Conversion Kit.
We offer an extra long automatic choke hot air tube for carburetors with an automatic hot air choke ($25 extra), such as the Autolite 1100-1V carb. The extra long, bendable, insulated, header tube, clamps to the outside of the exhaust manifold (or header) and replaces the factory pre-bent stainless steel choke tube that is pressed into the exhaust manifold. Once installed, the open end of the tube brings heated air up to the black choke cap (carbs with automatic chokes) in much the same way as the original tube. The tube can be bent to any shape, keeping it neat and clean, with a factory installed appearance. Click here for more information on the Electric Choke Conversion kit
Note: For low mount starters, the lower extension pipes may need to be reshaped for the best fit, however this can be done by any exhaust shop. For Fox bodies, the pipes may need to be shortened just a bit for fitment. The pipes can also be completely eliminated, in which case you could fabricate the exhaust system to connect directly to the collector outlets, which are 2" in diameter (see photo below).
Low Mount Starters: Our headers will fit low mount starters, but they may fit snug against the starter, depending on the size of the starter. However the pipes can be reshape by your local exhaust shop if needed, or you can install a mini starter, which offers plenty of clearance. The photo below shows a low mount starter, and the proximity of the header pipes. For those who don't know if they have a low or high mount starter, the red circle shows the approximate location of a high mount starter.
 | Low mount starter (red circle indicates approximate location of a high mount starter) | Classic Inlines Dual Outlet Headers feature a one piece 3/8" thick flange, 1 5/8" primaries, and 2" collector pipes. They are custom manufactured for Classic Inlines and offer a superior fit with excellent starter clearance. Unlike other headers, you don't need to remove or loosen the header to get the starter out.
Our headers are manufactured with the very latest equipment available, including aircraft quality computerised mandrel-bending machines, which ensure perfectly round bends (no kinks). Unlike other headers, our headers feature a full recess weld on the inside of the flange, as well as being fully welded on the outside. The advantages are increased flow, greater strength, and the opportunity to resurface the header without compromising the strength. Our custom head flanges have more material (wider) between the 3rd and 4th ports, as do our custom header gaskets. This helps to prevent blown header gaskets, which are very common with the small sixes, especially between the third and fourth ports.
 | | Precision cut and machined 3/8" flanges reduce exhaust leaks, minimize warpage, and allow for improved bolt alignment, making the installation easier. All headers are jig welded for guaranteed fitment and are checked prior to shipment.
Note: We also offer Jet-Hot Ceramic Coated headers, rather than a cheaper imitation ceramic coating. List price for Jet-Hot ceramic coating is $305 plus $45 for shipping, but we only charge $300, saving you $50. Unlike other coatings, Jet Hot Ceramic is warrantied for LIFE (they will recoat the header one time for no charge). Please allow 2-3 weeks additional shipping time for ceramic coated headers.
NOTE: If you wish to purchase a custom color ceramic coating (black, blue, or grey), please contact us via email. This header was coated with blue ceramic. Special order only.
| Blue ceramic coating | Advantages of Ceramic Coatings | - Temperature - decreases header surface temperatures up to 50%, reducing under-hood temps.
- Appearance - will not discolor and maintains its appearance for years (Sterling can be polished).
- Performance - increases power 3% or more by improving exhaust flow and reducing air intake temp.
- Durability - resist rust, pitting, scuffing & scratches, and chemical reactions with its superior finish.
- Longevity - increases header life by up to 20 times over painted finishes. Do not use header wraps.
- Comfort - reducing the header surface temperatures keeps floor boards cooler on the feet.
- Maintenance - makes maintenance easier and safer by reducing header temps and chance of burns.
- Savings - off-sets initial cost by extending the replacement of heat sensitive parts, such as starters.
Please read our TECH ARTICLE on Jet Hot Ceramic for more information on ceramic coatings.
Note: Classic Inlines does not recommend the use of header wraps, as it promotes rust and reduces the header life dramatically. It also voids the warranty. | In our opinion, our Dual Outlet Headers are the finest header available in the USA. Just ask for referrals, we'd be happy to supply them on request. Please read our TECH ARTICLE for information on How to Install Headers with A/C.
