Perfect for stock or mild performance engines, the 32/36 DGV is a progressive down-draft carburetor that offers increased performance, trouble-free maintenance, excellent drivability, and improved fuel economy. DGV carbs have a diaphragm type accelerator pump, a power valve circuit to facilitate low vacuum running conditions, and can be purchased with manual, electric, or hot water chokes (see options).
As a progressive carburetor, the secondary venturi only opens at 2/3's throttle or wide open throttle. Whereas in a synchronous carb, such as a Weber 38, Holley, or Autolite, both venturis open simultaneously (at the same time). As such a progressive carb operates like a one barrel carb most of the time, only opening the secondary barrel when more power is needed, or at full throttle. Not only does this improve gas mileage, it also improves throttle response and reduces the likely-hood that the carb will stumble under acceleration. As such the Weber DGV provides excellent drivability and mileadge for stock, or near stock, applications.
Note: Occasionally the carb will work fine out of the box, however in most cases you'll need to rejet the carb to get the best performance. Please see our tech article on Adjustments & Tuning for more information.
NOTE: Failure to purge the gas line and/or installing a new fuel filter will void the warranty.
